Job description
- Apply tissue engineering principles to developing and implementing state-of-the-art advanced culture models/CIVM in the field of drug metabolism.
- Independently design and execute studies, analyze and interpret data, and present findings back to the project team.
- Analyze and interpret data, including quantitative, physiologically relevant readouts from CIVM using immuno-, biochemical, and bioanalytical assays.
- Collaborate and communicate data clearly and concisely within a multidisciplinary team, including tissue engineering, cell biology, systems pharmacology, and systems biology
- PhD degree in Biological Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with 0+ years of relevant experience, MS degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or BS with 2+ years of hands-on lab experience working with primary human tissue culture. Appointment level will depend on skill set and years of experience.
- Outstanding laboratory technique: primary human cell culture; fluorescence microscopy, RT-PCR, immuno-, biochemical & bioanalytical assays.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and scientifically driven with solid reasoning skills in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation.
- Experience developing and working with advanced tissue culture systems including microphysiological systems, tissue chips, organ-on-chips, 3D cultures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to follow complex instructions, multitask, carefully document work in written records.
- Strong data analysis and statistical skills are required (e.g., Prism, MATLAB, R-studio etc.)
- Able to work well under direction as well as independently; self-motivated and able to work as a team in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced, dynamic, and results-oriented environment.
- Experience with ADME relevant cultures (liver, GI tract, kidney, skeletal muscle, adipose) is a plus!
- Experience with pharmacology studies with complex in vitro models is a plus!
