Scismic is supporting the growth of a biotech technology company that is building AWS for the sciences, with a mission of improving the world through better healthcare outcomes.
We are looking for a Software Engineer with experience in manufacturing and/or production to join the team! As a manufacturing software engineer, you'll push the boundaries of device and fleet management, architect customers' data strategy and company-wide data schemas, and leave your mark with the company as well as the biotech industry and broader sciences. You'll wear many hats:
- Collaborate with clients to develop software integrations with MES, PIMS, and data historians systems
- As a key point of contact, lead and manage client relationships to drive successful system implementations and integrations
- Develop software with velocity to maintain our pace, while strategically avoiding and reduce tech debt in the future
- Ensure that integrations are rock-solid and reliable to meet the stringent quality and compliance standards of biopharma and manufacturing
- Be a key determinant of our culture, and will help us grow and set norms for the business as we scale
Requirements
What we look for:
- 5+ years of experience working in a software, systems, manufacturing, or process engineering role
- Proficiency with software development in a manufacturing context
- Experience with qualification and validation according to quality standards such as 21 CFR Part 11 and GAMP5
- Familiarity and experience with layout and design of production processes, applying relevant standards such as OPC-UA
- Ability to execute technical independently and convey domain expertise
- Excellent collaboration skills in both written and verbal forms, as well as via clear, cleanly written code
- Desire to improve software infrastructure for scientists advancing the health and welfare of people
Pluses (but not required by any means!):
- Experience with biology or manufacturing informatics tools like MES, PIMS, or LIMS systems
- Personal hardware or home automation side projects
- Contributions to open source packages

Salary Range
- 150K-220K
