We are seeking applicants with an innovative mindset, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team to solve problems in preclinical research and development. The position will entail collaborating with scientists to design experiments, develop tools, analyze large/complex datasets, and use statistical modeling / machine learning to advance the identification and optimization of therapeutic leads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advance the ongoing development of internal machine learning-based pipelines to predict and optimize therapeutically relevant molecular properties.
  • Derive and interpret results from internally and externally sourced next-generation sequencing data.
  • Design and synthesize diverse feature sets to model molecular properties in silico and accelerate identification of promising therapeutic candidates.
  • Support data-driven decision-making and assist with the development of efficient analysis pipelines.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of work and code.
  • Foster growth of colleagues and the company by helping bridge the gap between computation and biology.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and methodologies in bioinformatics, computational biology, and machine learning.
  • Communicate findings and results to a wide range of stakeholders in written and oral formats.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A PhD in bioinformatics or a related discipline with a focus on applying machine learning to biological questions. Industry experience a plus but not required.
  • Experience with deep learning model design and development.
  • Experience exploring, analyzing, and troubleshooting a variety of next-generation sequencing data.
  • Experience implementing and working with molecular dynamic simulations or other molecular modeling paradigms.
  • Fluency in Python, R, or both, and usage of ML libraries.
  • Comfortable working in Linux and/or cloud-based computational environments.
  • Open-minded, team-centric, ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Open-minded, team-centric, collaborative approach to work and colleagues.

Title and compensation will be commensurate with experience.
