Lab Operations/Office Manager

Job description

Scismic is supporting the growth of a biotech company in the Greater Boston area!

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated office assistant to support the team in various functions including lab operations. In this position, the assistant will be responsible for managing all administrative tasks. We are looking for somebody who thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment with growing requirements and priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain calendars and tasks using slack, SharePoint, excel or other resources
  • Assist with scheduling meetings and events and preparation of materials and provide meeting minutes from board and investor meetings
  • Interface with board members, venture partners, KOLS, external collaborators (in Academia and/or Industry) and cross-functional team members
  • Set up and manage contracts, expense reports, by working with appropriate stakeholders (accounting, legal etc.)
  • Assist with ordering office and other supplies
  • Vendor management
  • General Lab operations

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of experience supporting biotech start-ups.
  • Extensive experience using tools/applications (Google, Outlook, …) for scheduling and communication
  • Experience working with accountants and legal people to set up contracts, expense reports, …
  • Strong collaborative and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Proven organizational and problem-solving skills to meet deadlines
  • Ability to quickly pivot between tasks and prioritize simultaneous tasks in a fast-paced environment
