We have an exciting new opportunity to join the team as an accomplished, highly motivated, and creative medicinal chemist. You will bring drug discovery experience in an industry setting in to join our fast-paced multidisciplinary team. As a passionate drug-hunter you will apply your expertise and knowledge in the art of medicinal chemistry to our small molecule drug discovery programs. You will provide medicinal chemistry leadership on small molecule discovery projects and will be a key contributor to discovery research efforts from hit ID through development candidate nomination. You will bring a sense of urgency and commitment to help the company reach its potential to deliver novel therapeutics to patients.

Your Role
- You will independently lead and manage chemistry efforts on small molecule discovery projects in line with target product profiles and timelines
- Prioritize and direct medicinal chemistry activities, managing external chemistry resources to ensure timeline adherence and alignment with project goals
- Effectively collaborate across multiple disciplines such as computational chemistry, DMPK, structural biology, biochemistry, biophysics, and toxicology to advance SAR
- Build, critically interpret, and react to structure activity relationships incorporating physicochemical properties, ADME/PK, and pharmacological readouts
- Possess a clear and effective communication style to disseminate project data and medicinal chemistry approaches to both internal and external colleagues
- Assist with the preparation of intellectual property documents, BOD updates, and external presentations
- Help build the scientific reputation to the outside community with conference presentations and publications
- Additional duties and responsibilities as required
Your Background
- PhD in organic or medicinal chemistry with at least 7 years of relevant industry experience or Master's degree with at least 12 years of relevant industry experience
- Experience in overseeing and directing chemistry activities at CROs required
- A dedicated drug-hunter with deep appreciation of the importance of simultaneously optimizing all aspects of a molecule with a track record of moving drug discovery programs efficiently to development candidates
- Proven ability to manage timelines and resources to drive projects toward key decision criteria
- Comfortable with, and eager to work within our values
- Good understanding of oncology biology and pharmacology principles is a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
