Job description
Scismic is supporting the growth of a Tech-Bioproducts company in Virginia.
This is a full-time on-site role for a Microbiology Technician in Cincinnati, OH. The Microbiology Technician reports directly to the Sr. VP of Innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Microbiology:
- Perform routine tests on fermentation samples
- Assist in preparing reagents, buffers and media for experiments
- Maintain accurate and organized laboratory records, including test results and observations
- Assist with fermentation monitoring, including sampling, measuring key parameters and troubleshooting deviations
- Participate in lab inventory management, ordering supplies and maintaining reagent stock
- Overseeing equipment maintenance
- Perform fermentation experiments on picchia pastoris, saccharomyces, fungus and E.coli
Key Profile Attributes:
- A strong team player and contributing member
- Be able to travel periodically
- Have 2-3 years working experience in a Microbiology Lab
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master’s in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemistry or a related field
- 2-3 years of experience working in a Microbiology Lab
